About WILL DEANBorn and raised in Kelowna, BC Will attended the University of California, Berkeley on a rowing scholarship. Will first rowed for Canada in 2008 at the Under-23 World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany. After he graduated from UC Berkeley in 2010, he moved to Victoria, BC to train full-time with the Senior national team. He has since competed for Canada in four world championships and two Olympic Games.
Will is passionate about food and nutrition and an advocate for healthy eating. Will conducts workshops (fermentation and cooking classes) to educate people on how they can preserve, increase nutrition and enjoy eating all types of foods. In his spare time, he can be found in his kitchen creating a new concoction, out in the garden tending to his vegetables and chickens or practicing yoga and perfecting his handstand. Will is a passionate and motivated public speaker. He has been invited to numerous events to speak about his experience as an Olympian, training as an elite athlete and to provide motivational and healthful eating tips. Since retiring from Rowing, Will leads rowing and erg workshops across North America. |
